This is our first blog post on the new website and I’d be pleased to hear your comments about the look of our new home. Over the course of the next few weeks we have lots of exciting new things happening at Music Bus.

The first of these is the launch of our new online store. Packed full of the instruments we use in class and many more. You’ll also find a terrific range of Putumayo World Music CDs for kids as well as our very own Music Bus CD featuring the voice of Julie Hall.

For those of you who aren’t aware Julie is an internationally renowned  singer songwriter and when she’s not in class it’s quite possibly because she’s off at a concert somewhere in the world. Just this year Julie has appeared all over all over the UK and much further afield in Jersey, Sweden and Poland. In the meantime as I’m sitting here writing it’s half term and I’m conscious of the fact that  many of you will be missing your weekly dose of Music Bus. I know that many mums like to do their own music sessions at home with their children and we’ve included on the new site a list of 10 top tips for making music at home with your baby or toddler.

As the weeks go by I hope to add to these tips with more ideas of how to get your baby or toddler singing and making music and the words to some of the best loved songs we sing in class.

It’ll also be “Request a Song Week” where we’ll go round the class and you can request your favourite Music Bus songs for us all to sing!

Double Deckers Classes

This spring we  launched a brand new Double Deckers class aimed specifically at 3 – 5 year olds. The class runs on Monday afternoons from 1.30 to 2.15 when mums can take advantage of the opportunity to treat themselves to a relaxing cup of tea or coffee whilst their children enjoy the fun of their own dedicated 45 minute music class. Places are limited so book your FREE TRIAL TODAY!

Baby Music Cafe

From January 2012 Music Bus will be opening its doors to our brand new “BABY MUSIC CAFÉ”, specifically aimed at babies from Newborn up to 6 months old.  Our “Baby Music Café” sessions are designed to be very relaxed, giving you a chance to introduce your baby to the delights of music and play whilst also enjoying a cup of complementary Fairtrade / Organic tea and coffee – it will be a great way to meet new friends too.  This will be a pay-as-you-go session with no need to pre-book!

The Baby Music Cafe will run at the Southwater Leisure Centre from 1:30pm until 2:45pm every Friday during term-time starting on Friday 13^th January ’12.  So if you or anyone you know would be interested in joining us we’d love to see you!
