Fathers Day Card and Song

With Father’s Day coming up on June 17th it’s a great opportunity for your child to tell daddy they love him and maybe even present him with a handmade card. We have a history of the girls making handmade cards in our family and even now both Mike and I treasure every one that they produce on special occasions throughout the year.

Fathers Day Card

Materials required

  • Card
  • Coloured paper
  • Crayons
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Mirror
  • Glitter
  • Magazines and catalogues
  • PVA glue or Gluestick
  • Other miscellaneous items for collage

What would daddy like to see most on his card? How about one of his favourite people in all the world – His little boy or girl!

Carefully put a mirror where your child can look at it and encourage them to draw a picture of their face, or maybe even the two of you together.
You could use your hands and make a handprint or feet for a footprint using washable kid proof paint.
What are some of daddy’s favourite things?
You could look through some magazines or catalogues or on the internet for pictures of some of these and cut them out and glue them onto his card.

Fathers Day Song

Here’s a special Father’s Day song to sing to him too. The tune is Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Daddy, daddy let me say
I love you in every way
I love you for all you do
I love you for being you
Daddy, daddy let me say
Have a happy Father’s Day!

Whether you make a card or sing his special song, either way, he’ll know you are thinking of him and made a really big effort to make his Father’s Day special.
